    the serous and sinovial membranes, the interior of the lymphatics and blood vessels. These vessels are sometimes charged with pig- ment, they are then termed pigment cells. THE SPHEROIDAL OR GLANDULAR CELLS Consists of the rounder or globular cells which lie in the interior of the compound glands; they do secretory work of the glands. THE COLUMNAR OR CYLINDRICAL CELLS Consist more or less of oblong or conical shaped shells which placed side by side stand perpen- dicularly ‘on their lower attached extremities ; they are generally smaller than their free ends that line the surface of the stomach and intestines including upper portions of the gastric follicles and gland bladder. THE CILIATED EPITHELIUM Consists of cells in general cylindrical variety, the free expanded extremities of which are covered with very fine pliant termed Cilia THE esTRUCTUR ESC OR CHE ai iN: The skin consists of two distinct layers of for- mations, viz., first, the Cuticle; and second, the Cutis. The Cuticle is the outer, non-vascular, layer of Epithelial cells which lines and protects the cutis, it is usually called the epidermis. The inner or bottom-most layer of the Epithelial cells of which it is composed is moulded on the true
