Or, put one grain of emetic tartar into fix table-fpoonsful of water ; a fmall tea-fpoonful will puke a child of a week old; a large tea-fpoonful is furncient for one a month old ; and fo in proportion.— Repeat the puke every day, or every other day, as the cafe requires. This is perhaps the bed medicine yet difcovered for infants. It fpeedily cures inward fits, gripes, loofenefs, thrum, and convulfions in children. But if the child is coftive, his bowels muft be opened firft With a little magnefia, or manna, before you give the puke. 42. Bilious Cholic * 161. Drink warm lemonade : 162. This is a fafe, eafy and efFedlual purge, not only in all thofe com- plaints where the bowels are the feat of difcafe, but alfo in the inteftt mining and remitting bilious levers incident to warm climates.]
