Serum-starved fibroblast cell injected with a protein (constitutively active Rho GTPase) that induces the assembly of actin stress fibres (red) and focal adhesions revealed by anti- vinculin staining (green). Focal adhesions are protein complexes that attach actin to the cell membrane.
