    coloured fluid is efFected. The inoculation is then performed in the usual manner. Mr Bryce, who discovered this mode of obtaining and preserving vaccine virus,* ad- vises the crusts to be put into a small phial, with a well-ground glass stopper, as soon as they fall off, so that they may be secluded, as much as possible, from the action of the air.
