About this work
Description
This is an animated film about a young school girl called Tomoko, who lives in Hiroshima. One day she visits the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum for her project 'My Adventure' as part of her homework. She is distrressed by the facts she learns about the dropping of the bomb and then she learns about Sadako, who was exposed to radiation when she was 2 and then died of leukaemia when she was 12. By making origami paper cranes, Sadako began a peace movement. She comes to life and takes Tomoko on an eyewitness tour of when the bomb fell.

Specially selected by the Japanese Ministry of Education for showing to children. Produced with contributions from the general public to create a peace animation aimed at children.
