Diseases of the heart caused the death of 1‘08 per 1,000, and fell short of the average of 1T4 by 0'06. Cancerous diseases were the cause of 0'54 death per 1,000 ; this was 0T8 below the average of 0'72. The annexed table sets forth the statistics for the twenty years since 1874, inclusive. O DEATHS.
