    More consideration lias been given to the clear illustration of the appliances for the treatment of various cases than to the description, as a more definite idea of an appliance can be ob- tained from an illustration than from a lengthy description. The author has endeavored to make everything clear and concise so as to consume as little of the operafc ir's time as possible. The author takes this opportunity for expressing his apprecia- tion of the interest taken he Dr. W. Storer How, of Philadelphia, Pa., in the success of The Knap]) System of Teeth Regulation. He was the first person to whom the appliances were shown, and gave the author great encouragement in placing them on the market. He also gave much valuable assistance in preparing for the press the first and second editions of Teeth Regulation,' puhlished in 1899 and [900 by The S. S. White Dental Mfg. Co.
