But as soon as the greater part of the urine has escaped, the ureter becomes kmked again at the old spot. But even in the case of simple narrowing, however little the obstacle itself changes, there is by no means always the same impediment to the secretion of urine. Suppose a case in which a considerable obstacle arises suddenly during a period of plentiful secretion a moment will be reached (not, indeed, so rapidly as in complete obstruction, but in a relatively short time) in which the disorder of relation between secretion and escape will 20
