DETRICK'57. In this position, he is responsible for the sales of the Hetron Aropol brands of chemical resistant polyester resins. Detrick joined the firm in 1965 as a sales engineer. He has served in a variety ager of project development for the Chemical Systems Division. Joins New Company General marketing manager, Ohio Bell Telephone Co., Cleveland, Ohio, ROBERT L. BARNETT'63 has been named vice president, American Bell Inc., Basking Ridge, N.J. This firm is a new subsidiary of the American Tele phone & Telegraph Co. and will manage Bell's activities in the interna tional markets. Barnett has headed the department responsible for sales to Ohio Bell's ind ustrial customers across the state. He joined the Bell System in 1963 with Cincinnati (Ohio) and Suburban Bell. He held engi neering posts with Cincinnati Bell, Bell Telephone Laboratories and in 1974 became manager of budgets and forecasting for A.T. & T., New York, N.Y. Barnett returned to Ohio Bell in 1976 as assistant vice president for customer services and later was general manager of residence servi ces in the Cleveland area. Signs Licensing Agreement Krasny-Kaplan Corp., Warrensville Heights, Ohio, has signed a licensing agreement with Pomini Farrel s.p.a., Castellanza, Italy, permitting the manufacture and sale in the United States of advance design medium and light section rolling mill stands and auxiliary equipment. Photo Service Is Available Following his early retirement from the Republic Steel Corp., Cleveland, Ohio, OWEN PATTON'41 has turned his secondary career into a full-time business enterprise. For many years, he has been a travel lecturer present ing his sight and synchronized sound shows to diverse audiences ranging from alumni clubs to civic organiza tions. He is also available for making slide and synchronized sound shows for organizations and companies as well as accepting commercial, indus trial and wedding photography jobs. With a classmate, JOHN C. PON- STINGL'41, he produced the Patton- Ponstingl Production, Operation Recall, which covers the four years of their college days. It was most recently shown to the Case Tech Class of 1981 at the Senior Class Ban quet and at the 40th Anniversary Re union of the Class of '41. Patton has eight travelogs available for showing ranging from A Grecian Odyssey and several other European countries to three made in the United States. Most recently, he had been assistant director of development for John W. Galbreath & Co., Columbus, Ohio. Prior to this position, Michota was vice president, University Circle Research Center Corp., Cleveland, Ohio. From 1956 to joining the Uni versity Circle Development Founda tion, Michota was an engineer with the Surface Combustion Division, Midland-Ross Corp., Toledo, Ohio. Later, he was chief engineer and pur chasing agent with the Henzler Manufacturing Corp., a lecturer at the University of Toledo Technical Institute and assistant to the execu tive director, Toledo Area Develop ment Corp. Given Endowed Chair Appointment of Dr. RICHARD W. HOFFMAN'47 as the Ambrose Swa- sey Professor of Physics at Case Insti tute of Technology has been announced. He succeeds Dr. Robert S. Shankland'29, Ambrose Swasey Pro fessor of Physics Emeritus. After gra duation, Hoffman became a research associate in physics and continued his studies at Case Tech. He received his M.S. degree in 1949 and his Ph.D. degree in 1952. Hoffman became an instructor in physics in 1952, assistant professor of physics in 1955 and pro fessor of physics in 1965, all in the Department of Physics.
