    Read Carefully ; Think Over; Make Use of the Information. TOBACCO.—It is not necessary for health or happiness, it isnot good as a remedy. Its daily use causes sore throat, loss of taste and smell dyspepsia, palpitation, nervousness, trembling of the hands, indecision, sleeplessness, low spirits, bad sight. and may cause cancer of the lip or tongue where the pipe is held. It helps on deaf- ness, locomotor ataxia, varicose veins, ulcers, low vitality, heart disease, aneurism, aud apoplexy. AvorIp 1 IF YOU WOULD LIVE LONG. STIMULANTS or IN TOXICANTS.—These are malt liquors as beer, ale, porter, stout; wines as claret, port, sherry, Burgundy, hock, moselle, champague, madeira, etc,; spirits as brandy, rum, gin, whisky; liqueurs as curacoa, benedictine, char- treuse, kirsch wasser, absinthe, bitters, etc. Noneare necessary for health, strength, warmth, happiness, or long life. Their use is always tollowed by disease and shortened life. They cause stomach troubles, liver congestions and hardening, disease of the kidneys, gout, rheumatism, heart disease, skin troubles, brain disorders, and help to cause stone in the kidney or bladder, gall stones, aneurism,and apoplexy. Their use helps to fill our jails, workhouses, and asylums. Avoid them all if you _ wish to live long and healthfully, and keep out of the prison and asylum. TEA AND COFFEE.—These drinks are harmful. They cause indigestion, wind in the stomach, gurgling noise in the bowels, palpitation, nervousness, sleeplessness, tremblings, low spirits, depression, miserable teelings, forebodings, and a big list of nervous symptoms possibly ending up in locomotor ataxia or palsy. They cause most headaches, especially those known as ‘‘sick headaches,’’ They are nervine irritants and are best left alone, Cocoa milk, barley water, gruel, lemon water, herb beer, or even plain water are better for the system than they are. DRUGS: DOCTOR’S MEDICINES AND PATENT MEDICINES. All these are wrong. A few drug doctors give harmless drugs; such practice is fraudulent. Most patent medicines are purgatives or harmless mixtures and consequently frau- dulent. One very successful medicine is only distilled water, yet it is sold at 5s. an ounce and guaranteed to cure cancer, andevery other ailment the body is subject to. When drug doctors give strong medicines, then they do harm. Drugs will purge, will make one sick, will send one to sleep, or relieve pain, and they can kill What they cannot dois to cure. ALL CURE TAKES PLACE BY THE ACTION OF THE SYSTEM AND IN SPITE OF THE REMEDIES TAKEN. Every dose of medicine is a harmless dose of humbug, or a dose of poison. There is no getting away from this fact. Every sick person who takes a dose of drugs is lessening his chances of recovery, or is driving a big nail into his coffin. Dr. Mason Goode said, ‘Med cines kill more than war, pestilence and famine combined.” If ill, consult a homeceopath if possible ; his drugs will not kill. If you must see a puison doctor take his stuff home and throw it down the sink ; better to pay for it and throw it away than to be injured or killed.
