    Too much importance cannot be attached to the utility of this branch of the Hospital’s work, which, as the Committee would again point out. directly increases the usefulness of the Hospital, by enabling patients to be discharged from it, to go to the Home, sooner than would otherwise be possible, thus increasing the accommodation at the Hospital. The Committee therefore hope that many Subscribers to the Hospital who do not already contribute to the funds of the Home, may be induced by this consideration to do so. The total ordinary income of the Home was ^490 7s. 4d., and the expenditure ^826 2s. ud., the deficiency being met by the transfer of £700 from the Hospital funds, on receipt of legacies, out of which sum a debt of ^400 to the Bankers was repaid. The first cot to be endowed, viz., by Mrs. Harvey, in the Home has been named the “ Norah Harvey ” Cot, and the Committee very thankfully acknowledge Mrs Harvey’s generous donation of £1,000 for this object. A sum of £21 was, under the will of the late Miss Ann Williamson, kindly allocated to this Home by the Executor, H. Wells Eames, Esq., to whom the Committee return their best thanks.
