D. 1199) calls thefe poffeffions of the Britains in the welt of Scotland, Regnum Cambrenfe, and fays this _ kingdom, in former times, was extended from the Northumbrian wall to the Scotifh fea of Forth, or Clyde; that is, from the fouthern wall to the northern : and what the preface to the ancien¢ (6) chartulary of Gla/go hath of the pane that fee, infinuates the fame.
