The following facts are cited to show that in some cases the disease is epidemic to a limited degree even at the present time, though in the vast majority of cases I could only find single individuals attacked, the other members of the family or community showing no signs of the disease. (1) At Sennar two servants of an official were found very ill with the disease, one died while I was there and the other was apparently dying. Further enquiries elicited the report that two other servants had died in Khartoum after a good deal of fever in 1908, 1 Case found on return in Khartoum Military Hospital.
