![Cerebrospinal Meningitis. All 4 cases were incorrectly diagnosed, 1 being a case of cerebral-haemorrhage in the course of chronic nephritis, 1 tuberculous meningitis, 1 pneumococcal meningitis and 1 subacute rheumatism. Whooping Cough. The fatality was due to acute generalised miliary tuberculosis. The case which recovered was complicated ^ by congenital heart disease. Acute Anterior Poliomyelitis. The diagnosis was confirmed i in 10 cases. With one exception, all these cases were reported ] upon in the appendix to the Annual Report for 1947 as they formed ■ a continuous series with the cases arising in that year. The case I not previously recorded was admitted on 22nd March, 1948, from : x\xminster and aged 17. In 3 cases the diagnosis was not confirmed.
