![100, water q. s., white sugar 100. Percolate the cin- chona at first with the spirit, and then with water so as to obtain 100 of percolate. Distil off the alcohol, cool, filter on to the sugar, dissolve with a gentle heat to ob- tain 152^ of product. Syrupus Cinchonse cum Ferro. C. Syrupus de Cin- chona cum Citrate Ferrico. Vinous syrup of cinchona 100, ammonio-citrate of iron 1. Dissolve the citrate in water 2, filter and mix. Syrupus Cinchonse Vinosus. C. Extract of calisaya bark 1, Grenache wine 43, sugar 56. Dissolve the ex- tract in the wine, filter, add the sugar, dissolve in a closed vessel, and strain when cold. Syrupus Cinnamomii Ph.G. Zimmtsimp. Macerate coarsely powdered cassia bark 1 with cassia water 5 for two days with occasion;d shaking. In every 4 of filtered liquid dissolve sugar 6 to produce syrup 10. C. Prepared like Syrupus Aurant. Flor. C. N.F. Cassia bark 100, alcohol (94 per cent.) 50, sugar 700, cinnamon water to produce 1000 fl. pts. Mix al- cohol with 450 fl. pts. cinnamon water, moisten cinnamon with a little of this ; macerate 2 hours. Then percolate, using remainder of menstruum and the cinnamon water; collect first 500 fl. pts. separately, and dissolve the sugar in it. Make up to 1000 fl. pts. with the second perco- late. Syrupus Citrici. A. Clarified filtered lemon juice 4-, sugar 6. Dissolve. Syrupus Cocse. C. Like Syrupus Rhmados. C. Syrupus Codeinse. B.P. Codeine phosphate 40 grains, distilled water \ fl. oz., syrup to produce 20 fl. oz. Dis- solve the codeine phosphate in the water, add the syrup. Mix. Dose, i to 2 fl. drs. B. P.C. Codeine in powder 20 grains, proof spirit 1| fl. oz., distilled water 1^ fl. oz. Dissolve and add syrup q. s. to produce 20 fl. oz. DoSE,^ to 2 fl. drs. N.F. Codeine sulphate ], syrup 100 fl. pts. Reduce codeine to powder, then dissolve in warm syrup. One fl. dr. = I grain codeine sulphate. C. Codeine in powder 20 centigrammes, alcohol (90 per cent.) 5 grammes, syrup 95 grammes.
