![XIV. THE PUBLIC HEALTH (SHIPS^ &c.) ACT, 1885. 48 & 49 Vict., Chapter 35. An Act to amend the Public Health Act, 1875, in relation to Ships and Port Sanitary Authorities. [31st July, 1885.] Whereas it is expedient to amend the provisions of the Pubhc Health Act, 1875, relating to ships and port sanitary authorities : Be it enacted by the Queen's most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows : Short Title. 1. This Act may be cited as the Public Health (Ships, &c.) Act 1885, and shall be construed as one with the Public Health Act 1875, i^ this Act referred to as the principal Act. Amendment of Sec. 110 of the Public Health Act, 1875. 2. Section one hundred and ten of the principal Act shall have effect not only for the purpose of the provisions of that Act relating to nuisances, but also for the purpose of such of the provisions of that Act relating to infectious diseases and hospitals as are referred to in the schedule to this Act. Constitution of Permanent Port Sanitary Authorities. 3. In any case in which the Local Government Board are by the principal Act authorized permanently to constitute a port sanitary authority by provisional order, they may permanently constitute a port sanitary authority by Order.
