The Council's Milk Sub-Committee work in close co-operation with the Board of Guardians and a scheme has been formulated whereby milk and dinners recommended by the Milk Sub Committee are supplied by the Board to certain nursing mothers who are already in receipt of Poor Law relief. This scheme obviates the undesirable practice of a person being granted a somewhat similar form of relief by two different authorities.](https://iiif.wellcomecollection.org/image/B1823575X_0054.jp2/full/800%2C/0/default.jpg)
