At the middle of the outer border of this surface is the deep infra-orbital groove (Fig. 17), which in front becomes a canal of the same name, opening by the infra-orbital foramen ; small canals branching from this pass into the substance of the anterior wall of the antrum—the anterior and middle dental canals; at the inner forepart of this orbital surface are a lacri- mal notch and a minute depression for the origin of the inferior oblique muscle of the eye.
