![rather cedematous, but not until a few days had elapsed, did he discover the real nature of the disease. In the evening,rigors and head-ache took place, and in the morn- ing, the great toe was stamped with the true characters of gout. I may state as a general fact, that the gout is more disposed to be mild and regular in its first attack in men, than in women. In one hundred and ninety-eight cases of gout, I have made the following comparison of the parts affected in the first fit: Cases.
