![Adeps Lanae Hydrosus Merck. Hydrous Wool-fat. — YellowisTi-white, unctuous mass. Contains about Soo/o water. Freely takes up water and aqueous soluts. Non irritant, permanent emollient, and base for ointments and creamsj replacing lanolin perfectly in all its uses. Adeps Lanae Anhydricus. — P. B. (Akhydrous Wool-fat.) — Contains less than fo/o of water. Adonidin Merck. Adonin. — Yellowish-brown, very hygroscopic, odorl. powd.; intensely l,itter. — Sol. in water, alcohol; insol. in ether, chloroform. —Cardiac Stimulant, mild Diuretic. — USES: Obsesity and Heart diseases, especially mitral and aortic regurgitation, and relieving precor(Hal pain and dyspnoea. — Doso: Vie—'/4 grn. (0.004—O.OlSgrm.) 4 t. daily, in pill, or solut. in chloroform water with ammonium carbonate. — Max. D.; >'3 grn, (0.02 grm.) daily. Agaricin Merck. White powd.; sweet, withbitter after-taste.— SoL. in alcohol; slightly in water, ether, or chloroform.—Antihidrotic.—Uses: Phthisical nightsweats, sweating from drugs.—^Dose: '/j—Igrn, (0.015—0.06 grm.).
