Quiniae sulphat gr. xxiv. M. ft. pil. No. xij. Sig.—One pill three times a day. Bartholow. Dr. Bartholow says of the above prescription: Of all the metallic astringents employed for this purpose, I know of none better or more effective than sulphate of copper. It is specially indicated where there are colic-pains, tenesmus, and the stools contain mucus streaked with blood.
