    —————————————— oo ‘“ Permission was accorded on November 10th to re-admit cases of Tuberculosis, and the first arrived on November 16th, but the beds available had been reduced by building operations on made the use of 14 huts inadvisable. Further difficulties have arisen owing to the closing of the Recreation Hut and the Dining Room. At the end of December, the total number of beds that could be used was 50. “The information given in the preceding tables cannot be compared with that furnished in previous years owing to the sudden evacuation that took place” Edge View Sanatorium, Kinver.—The wisdom of the decision to re-open Edge View Sana- torium, Kinver, for the reception of female pulmonary cases is again confirmed by the use made of the Institution during 1939. Patients from the south of the Joint Board’s Area are willing to go there, whereas previously they might have refused to go as far afield as Groundslow, and when they are at Edge View they stay for a fair length of time, though not, in all cases, as long as one could wish. Dr. Stevenson, the Medical Superintendent of Prestwood Sanatorium, also looks after Edge View Sanatorium, and any special investigations that may be required, such as X-Ray examinations, are arranged by taking the patients to Prestwood by ambulance.
