![[ 108 ] : knowledge diffufed a love of virtue and ~ piety, and of every perfon who did all the good, and prevented all the evil in his power! Their time and their ta- lents were wifely employed. Death does not approach them like the king of terrors, but like a friend, who comes to releafe them from the vanity and forrows of this world, and to charm their minds with a profpec& of that e- verlafting peace and joy, of which they _will foon be put in poffeffion. Eternal God, father and ruler of the univerfe, take meunder thy mighty protection, and | enable me, for the remaining part of my time, by a conftant practice of righte- oufnefs, charity, and piety, to acquire fuch habits of loving and ferving thee, that the end of my gays may be the end of my afflictions, and. the begin- ning of that ferenity and joy, which is the everlafting portion of thy children.
