![l]th. A frelh haemorrhage came on, but from no principal trunk. Spirits of turpentine were applied to the part, and a bandage, which in a great degree flopped the bleeding. But the animal remained in exceffive pain, inca- pable of lying down, with no appetite ; and in this {late he continued till he died. From difl'edlion after death, the appear- ances very clearly explained the caufc of death. On opening the 'fheath of the tendon, oppofite the w7ound, the principal flexor tendon of the coffin bone could not be feen ; but on opening the fheath throughout the whole extent, from the heel of the frog to the large paflern joint, the long flexor tendon was found ruptured. The fuperior part of the tendon wras drawn up as high as the fetlock joint, but the low’er por- tion remained in its former fituation. The •upper extremity of the tendon w7as extremely ragged, which demonflrated that the tendon could not have been cut.
