    LOCAL HEALTH SERVICES FOR THE BOROUGH provided by the Kent County Council. AMBULANCE FACILITIES. Enquiries relating to ambulance service matters and requests for ambulance transport are dealt with by the Kent County Council Ambulance Service from their station at 86a,Speldhurst Road,Southborough. (Telephone Tunbridge Wells 23222). PRINCIPAL WELFARE OFFICER. Mr.G.H.Foster, Kent County Council District Office, 39,Grove Hill Road, Tunbridge Wells. Telephone - Tunbridge Wells 23342. DOMICILIARY MIDWIFERY. The County Council arranges for the free attendance of midwives upon patients who are to be confined at home. The name and address of the appropriate midwife for any particular district is usually known to the patient's doctor,but can be obtained from the District Office of the County Council. HOME NURSING SERVICE. The County Council provides a service free of charge for the attendance on persons whose doctors require them to be nursed in their own homes. The nurses attendance is normally arranged by the doctor,but the name and address of the appropriate nurse for any particular district is obtained from the District Office of the County Council. DOMESTIC HELP SERVICE Domestic Help service may be provided in households where it is needed owing to the presence of a person who is ill,lying-in, an expectant mother,mentally subnormal, aged or a child not over compulsory school age,but only where there is no able-bodied person in the household capable of carrying out the necessary household duties.
