    [ *6 ] ings fmi [had in the Time, it may he thought pro¬ per to let the Parijhes and Places in fuch Dif~ triffiy act under the prefent Laws, till Parlia¬ ment fhall think fit to take their particular Cafe into Conjideration, The Subftance of the Laws relating to the Appointment of Overfeers, to the making Af- feffments, levying of the Poors Rates, to the Punifhment of Overfeers for Mifbehaviour, and to the Method of their Accounting; to the obliging Parents and Children, when of Ability, to maintain each other; to the making the Property of Hufbands who fhall run away from their Wives and Families liable to be difpofed of for their Maintenance, to the Pu¬ nifhment of the reputed Fathers and Mothers of Baftard Children, and to the compelling them to contribute to their Relief and Main¬ tenance; to be enumerated and enforced with fuch Amendments as fhall be thought expe¬ dient in this intended Act. That after the Houfes fhall be fo provided, Rocked and furnifhed, and the Poor removed thither, purfuant to the Directions of the Act, no Perfon be permitted to beg or afk Alms, and Perfons relieving; them to be liable to a Penalty; All poor Perfons aiking or wanting Relief, and all Badards or other poor Children want¬ ing Relief, to go, or be taken by any Perfon to the Overfeer of the Poor of the Parilh, Town-
