    O F T H E DISORDERS TO WHICH Children are liable at this Seafon. HOUGH hot weather weakens us, and as a remote caufe, renders us more fufceptible of diforders, than we are in a cooler feafon, yet, of itfelf, it cannot properly be faid to occafion the difeafes that appear in the fummer, notwithftand- ing the fluids may, perhaps, contract fome degree of acrimony, and the folids alfo as being relaxed, become more irritable. Such a conftitution, un¬ doubtedly, puts health on a more precarious foot¬ ing, and it is alio common with adults to live at large as before : infants likewife are oftentimes carried abroad indifcreedy •, and the teeth com¬ monly begin to flioot, even in very young chil¬ dren, at the letting in of that feafon •, the pain of which alone, is iuflicient to bring on fpafms in thefe delicate and very irritable fubjefts, now be¬ come more fenflble of irkfome impreflions. Chil¬ dren a little more advanced in age, are fo impa¬ tient of heat, that, if poflible, they will lie unco¬ vered at night: and are ungovernable in the ufe O 7 O of exercife abroad throughout the day ; fo that they are, in a great meafure, expoled to every ex¬ treme both of the weather and fatigue. From the time thefe young lubiedts begin to drink or eat things that are cold, and feed more at large, they are more or lefs troubled with worms ^ nor do weakly grown people efcape them.
