    A.D. 1872, \Wi August. N° 2403. Medicinal Compound. LETTERS PATENT to Alexander Melville Clark, of 53, Chancery Lane, in the County of Middlesex, Patent Agent, for the Invention of “ A New or Improved Medicinal Compound.”—A communication from abroad by Claude Victor Viard, of Paris, Prance. Sealed the 4th February 1873, and dated the 12th August 1872. PROVISIONAL SPECIFICATION left by the said Alexander Melville Clark at the Office of the Commissioners of Patents, with his Petition, on the 12th August 1872. I, Alexander Melville Clark, of 53, Chancery Lane, in the 5 County of Middlesex, Patent Agent, do hereby declare the nature of the said Invention for “ A New or Improved Medicinal Compound/’ to be as follows:— This Invention relates to the preparation of a medicinal compound consisting of condensed milk and Vichy salts. I first take pure milk 10 from the cow and deprive it of or extract its aqueous portion, and then add pounded sugar together with a sufficient quantity of Vichy salts to render the aliment useful for the treatment of those maladies in which
