![[May 7, 1804. EoYAL College of Surgeons in Iueland, UubUn, March 17th, 1864. Sir, In reply to your communication, dated October 1863, but not received until February 18G4t-, I am directed by the President and Council to enclose a copy of the Eegulations now in force relative to the Education and Examination of Candidates for the Licence and Fellow- ship of this College, as altered and revised since the receipt of the Eecommendations of the General Council. I also transmit herewith, copies of proceedings of the Council with regard to the same subject since the passing of the Medical Act, as well as copies of the Charters Bye-Laws, Ordinances, and Eegulations of the College from time to time enacted since its foundation, to establish a liberal and extensive system of Surgical Education in this country. With respect to the contemplated measures to reduce the standard of Surgical Education, or to curtail the Curriculum or Course of Study prescribed for Candidates seeking the Licence of the College, I am directed to state that the President and Council cannot agree to any proposal having such objects in view. The Apothecaries' Hall of Ireland, Dublin, 6th November, 1863.
