    ON THE. OPHTHALMIA, &c. On the Propagation of the Disease. THE appearance in this country of the species of Ophthalmia, which forms the subject of the present investigation, can be traced by such manifest evi- dence to the return of the Egyptian expedition, as to. place the source of its introduction beyond the necessity of a separate inquiry.
