Crooke, and are to be sold at the Ship in St. Paul’s Churchyard, 1659. * * An extremely rare book: and this copy is quite a different setting up from any other already known. 297 Horse Beataz Mariar VirGinis Secunpum Usum Sarum, cum Calendari, lit. goth. red and black, printed throughout within woodcut borders in compartments of Biblical subjects, Dances of Death, Arabesques, Rustic Scenes, 17 full page woodcuts, small initial woodcuts, etc. (Wants title ; first leaf of Calendar; @ ii: X 8, and last leaf of Table with imprint: FA iii in Calendar slightly defective ; some of the suffrages erased by ink. Original Cambridge binding in limp calf, the Panels stamped with griffins and flowers with the mark of the Binder Nicolas Sperinck (Worn), SOLD NOT SUBJECT TO RETURN, no imprints [ Paris, Byrckman 1521 4] * * A VERY RARE EDITION and a good copy generally, with wide margins. A Devoute Treatise upon the Pater “ Noster, made fiyrst in latyn, and turned into englishe by a Yoge Vertuous and well learned Gentylwoman of XIX yere of age, black letter, ttle within woodcut border (plain margins of 2 ll mended) T. Berthelet (1524) *.* Excessively rare. The translator was Margaret, daughter of Sir Thomas More. There seems to be no other copy known of this edition. 299 Esrar de Ja Grande Bretagne, Restably en Gloire, ou la Juste Esperance Conceve dans le Livre suivant cruellement frustrée, renouvellée par les motifs contenus dans le précédent. Avec les trois tailles douces representant les trois Chambres du Parlement d’Angleterre, &c. fine portraits of Charles II and Queen Henrietta Maria, and three folding plates by Marcornet, calf 1648 *,* This extraordinarily scarce volume appears to be a wholly undescribed re-issue intended for publication, and, perhaps, with- drawn, of a tract with the same plates printed in 1648 under the title of “‘ Discours du bon et Loial Sujet.” In the imprint occurs : “Le tout se vendra par Vordre de Auteur rue (blank) |’Enseign de (blank).” No other copy seems to be known.
