Crooke, and are to be sold at the Ship in St. Paul’s Churchyard, 1659. * * An extremely rare book: and this copy is quite a different setting up from any other already known. 297 Horse Beataz Mariar VirGinis Secunpum Usum Sarum, cum Calendari, lit. goth. red and black, printed throughout within woodcut borders in compartments of Biblical subjects, Dances of Death, Arabesques, Rustic Scenes, 17 full page woodcuts, small initial woodcuts, etc. (Wants title ; first leaf of Calendar; @ ii: X 8, and last leaf of Table with imprint: FA iii in Calendar slightly defective ; some of the suffrages erased by ink. Original Cambridge binding in limp calf, the Panels stamped with griffins and flowers with the mark of the Binder Nicolas Sperinck (Worn), SOLD NOT SUBJECT TO RETURN, no imprints [ Paris, Byrckman 1521 4] * * A VERY RARE EDITION and a good copy generally, with wide margins. Berthelet (1524) *.* Excessively rare. The translator was Margaret, daughter of Sir Thomas More.
