![CHAPTER XVII Tabriz to Seville We were álill awaiting in Tabriz the commands of Prince Omar, and about this time he was moved to send us ambassadors a letter, in which his Plighness assured us that we had no cause for anxiety in the delay which was poálponing our departure homeward. We were informed that very soon all matters of dispute between him and his father Mírán Sháh would be adjusted, and immediately on this happening he would summon us to his presence for a farewell audience when we should take leave of him. Nevertheless shortly after this gracious letter had been brought us, namely on Tuesday the [28 th] of April, the day of the Feaál of Saint Peter Martyr, we Spaniards being at our lodgings in Tabriz there appeared before our door the governor of the city and his secretary with a crowd of attendants. Coming in these men seized and took in charge all our swords and other arms that we had about us, when ordering to be closed the outer gates the governor proceeded to inform us that it was Prince Omar who had sent him with charge to impound all our goods and possessions, which same they were now about to take into cuálody. We on this gave as answer that we muál submit to what they should do since we were completely in their power: but they should remember that our Maáfer the King of Spain had sent us as his envoys to his late Highness the Lord Timur on a mission of friendship, and that up to the present we had ever been treated in a very different fashion to this that was proceeding.
