![already said are situated ten leagues distant [to the westward] of Tabriz. Prince Omar next sent word to the cities of Tabriz and Sultáníyah that it was his intention to hold a funeral fea¿t to the honoured memory of his grandfather Timur, for the which intent they were to send him in supplies, namely sheep, horses, bread and wine. Further they muát provide 3,000 robes of kincob [gold brocade] and other such stuffs, which it would be his intention to beátow on various of his lords. It was at this date that Prince Omar at length issued his orders that our goods and possessions which, as related, had been seized should all be returned. In consequence two of the Chagatays were sent to us with our goods on Thursday the 13 th of August, and they further brought us a letter from Prince Omar in which we were invited to come and see him. On Friday the following day therefore we left Tabriz sleeping that night in camp, and by the morning we were present with his Highness in the Plains of Vian where he was in residence, and they assigned us our quarters by a ¿tream where we pitched our tents. On Saturday next day, the Feaát of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Prince Omar issuing from his tents went to a great pavilion, and here sent for us to come to his audience. Thither we now proceeded and making him our obeisance, he received us very graciously, giving us good words; after which we were taken to an awning near the pavilion where they served us with dinner. The next day Sunday his Highness sent for us again to the pavilion, where a great feaál was made, and a Mulla preached before the Prince, lauding the memory of his grandfather.
