    Vian bark, and finds the ulcer to heal as a common abcefs. May we not then advife the difperfing thofe Buboes, which happen in confequence of Gonorrhoeas, on the idea of their being caufed by inflammation, and not by abforptionj that they therefore do not afford a critical difeharge of the venereal virus, deducing our arguments in fupportof this mode of practice from obferving, that the Hernia Humorrhalis, and the other in¬ flammations caufed by Gonorrhoea, do not produce fymptoms of the Lues Venerea, un- lefs there has been a folution of continuity, and an application of a portion of the gonor¬ rhoeal difeharge to fuch part ? When an inguinal Bubo comes to fuppu- ration, our next objedt is, by what method to procure an opening for the difeharge of the matter. Opening them by incifion is now feldom ufed, the method by cauftic being preferred, as the fore is found to heal in a fhorter time, and with lefs danger of leaving finufes than after the opening by in¬ cifion. But there is fcarcely ever a neceffity for any operation ; for if the matter be per¬ mitted to make its own opening, the cure will
