Oatmeal Water.—Put 1 table- spoonful coarse oatmeal into a jug, pour 1 quart boiling water over, coci, and salt or sugar to taste. Arrowroot.— Mix a teaspoonful of arrowroot to a smooth paste with a little cold milk, pour on boiling milk until cup is full, stirring all the time to prevent it becoming lumpy; add a pinch of salt and sugar to taste. If wine isto beadded, use waterinstead of milk. , Fish for an Invyalid.—Put -pint of milk on the fire to get hot; when quite hot put in 1 whiting or any white fish, and allow it to cook about twenty minutes. When done, put ona not dish, Mix 1 teaspoonful cornflour to a smooth paste with a little milk, then add the milk in which the fish was cooked. Stir over the fire until it boils. Pour sauce over fish, and garnish with cut lemon and parsley. ‘
