    La Bourboule (France). The water is hot (130° F.). Altitude 2,780 feet. Baths are provided. The waters are arsenical as well as alkaline nmriated, and may be useful in certain cases of chronic gouty skin disorders. The season is from the beginning of June to the end of September. COMMON SALT OR MURIATED WATERS. These waters contain sodium chloride as their principal constituent, and some of them also con- tain a large amount of free carbonic acid gas. They are of use in the treatment of gastro-intestinal and hepatic gout, especially when accompanied by constipation, and in cases of gouty dyspepsia asso- ciated with general atony. They exercise a stimu- lant effect on the gastric glands and on the liver cells. They are not indicated in cases of articular gout, when the removal of the uratic deposits is the main object of treatment. The principal waters of this class are those of Homburg, Wiesbaden, Kis- singen, Baden-Baden, Nauheim, Llandrindod, Wood- hall Spa, Llangammarch Wells, Oeynhausen. Homburg (Germany). The waters are cold. Altitude about 600 feet. Baths, massage, and electrical treatment are provided. The waters produce slight purgation and diuresis, and are useful for the treatment of gouty dyspepsia with a tendency to constipation, and of gouty gastro- intestinal catarrh and hepatic congestion associated with general atony.
