The hgures include specially presented as well as routine children, which prevents them from being compared closely with those from the Elementary Schools as regards the prevalence of defects. Medical treatment for Secondary School scholars has not been provided, but any SLiS])eoted to be sufh'ring from tubercmlosis are referred to tlie nearest Tuberculosis Dispensary for further examination and, if necessary, treatment; and pupils with defective eyesight, who are not receiving treatment elsewhere, are offered special examination by the County Oculist. J^ast year such further examination was offered lh;i pupils, and accepted by the parents of 8tt. Of the 1,‘211-1 scholars examined as I’ontine or special eases 181 were found to be already wearing spectacles. Where tliese. spectacles appeared to be unsuitable, further examination was offered. It would be an advantage if onr dental sebeme coidd be extended to the Secondary Schools, bid we could hardly undertake it with onr present staff.](https://iiif.wellcomecollection.org/image/b30112242_0030.jp2/full/800%2C/0/default.jpg)
