In ihort, There’s hardly any purging Pill without Aloes in its Compofition. Aloes was order’d in Form of Pills (fays Walchmidt) for its Eitternefs from half to a whole Scruple. Paul in his Firft Book, Ch, 43, gave Aloes after Supper, in a fmall Quantity, fo as it did not difturb, but rather fortify’d the Stomach, and gently mov’d the Feeces downward.
