Although influenza, as the primary cause of death, is excluded from both these columns, there is no doubt that the prevalence of that disease in 1890 and 1891 had increased the number of deaths returned from both groups. Comparing our rate from all causes with that in previous years, we may regard it as satisfactory. As already said, it was a little higher than that of the record year 1905, but it was lower than in any of the 15 years which preceded it. TABLE 3.
