The vessel was boarded on arrival on 11th September, 1957, and throat and nose swabs were taken from all members of the crew. Bacteriologdcal examination of the swabs proved negative in all cases. There were no cases of smallpox, cholera, ])Iague, yellow fever, typhus or relapsing fever within the Port during the year. SECTION X—OBSERVATIONS ON THE OCCURRENCE OF MALARIA IN SHIPS No case of Malaria was notified as having occurred during the voyages of vessels before arrival at Newport.
