![[ 4° ] the Anus excoriated (f) •, the Sanies retains ing its Virulency thro'* the whole Trad: of the Inteftines* The Sick fometimes bleed at the Nofe towards the Beginning of the Difeafe; and the Menfes very often appear in thofe of the Female Sex* who are of Age to have them* foon after they are feized, notwithftanding the regular Period is at a confiderable DU fiance: If they are taken ill about the ufual Seafon, the Difcharge is commonly greater than it ought to be. Some young Perfons, who never had the leaft Appearance of them, have had this Evacuation during their Illnefs. In ftrong and full Habits, thefe Evacua¬ tions are feldom attended with much Bene¬ fit, or with manifeft ill Effeds, unlefs they are very copious; for in this Cafe they occafion great Faintnefsi and an Increafe of the other Symptoms, in proportion to the Excefs. In . tender weak Subjeds they are often preju¬ dicial. It has happen'd in this Difeafe, that Hae¬ morrhages from the Nofe and Mouth have fuddenly carried off the Patient.
