Begins: “The Pangaran Athepatte [=Pangeran Adipati] of Cartasoorah [=Kartasura], who hada Hollander Captain-Lieutenant with 11 Soldiers and a great number of the Javanese made war with the Soosoo- hoonnan, but the latter conquered the Pangaran Athepatte, on a Saturday (or Saptoo [=Saptu]) at 9 a.m. on the 27th of the Moon Joomahdilackir [=Jumadi-’l-akhir]. The Inhabitants of the Hamlets in the neighbourhood of Cartasoorah, hearing that the Chineses fought very bravely and had killed a great Number of the Army of Cartasoorah, Left their Habitations through fear and concealed themselves——An Officer named Tammanggoong Rajahnitte [=Tuménggung Rajaniti] and all his people left the field of battle and fled to Cartasoorah. On thir arrival at Cartasoorah the people went to their places the Tammanggoong Rajahnitte did homage to Pangaran Athepatte, and informed him ‘Many of Your Majesty’s Officers and people have been slaughtered by the Chineses in the late action and they are now encamped near the Bandon River.’ ” Ends (p. 318): “The Soldiers met the Madoorah [= Madura] armies and commenced fighting, When the field of Battle become obscured by smoke of the fire and both felt a great loss of people. When the Bands were played by order of the Hollanders, then Admiral Summaun [= 7], Commodore Situmbireck [=Kommandeur Sterrenberg |, Major Tanningcoose [=Ten Haghuys?], Edler Presil [= Verijssel?], the Resident, and the Athepatte of Sourahbayah [=Sura- baya], with the armies entered the action, they fought very bravely and killed a thousand of Madoorah men. The Com- mander in Chief (or Raden Jayahpramayah [=Jayapramaya)]) also was slewed by the Hollanders. When the people of Madoorah fled from the battle to their town, and the Pangaran Chackrah Adie ningrat [= Pangeran Chakra Adiningrat], came to the knowledge that, his armies is much ruined by the Enemies, He accordingly embarked on board, his Vessel and ordered the 24 Vessels to be in.Company with him. The Hollanders Edler Presil, Admiral Summaun, Commodore Situmbireck, the Resident, and the Athepatte of Sourahbayah, and the Armies went to Madoorah, town, they could not find a single person in the City.—The Soldiers and Javaneses armies then began plundering their property by order of their Masters.—Madoorah, country was taken by the Company’s Hollanders on the Woolan- Rujuff [=wulan Réjéb] (or Month of August) in the Year 1709.” This date is wrong: the event happened in A.D. 1745; ef.
