![Particulars in Exeter Domefday omitted in Exchequer Domefday, or varied. Of Portland this record fays, “ Hanc infulam tenet Edvardus Rex: habet in dominio 3 car- «t rucas & villani habent 23. Ibi habet rex 1 viilajium, 100 bordarios 10 minus, 5 fervos, 900 *t oves, 3 roncinos, 14 animalia, 27 porcos, 8 agros prati, 8 quadrag. pafeuae in longitudine “ & 8 in latitudine: reddit 65 libras Candidas per annum. Hoc eft de Porlanda et de hoc quod “ pertinet ei.” The king holds Bridetona, Bera, Colifberia, Sapetona, Bratepolla and Cidihoc 1 manjione: In the fame manner, Soche,Winborna, Efchapewhic, Chirche, and Obpewinborna, and others, as in Exchequer Domefday: alfo Dorceftra, Fortitona, Sextona, Gelingeham and Froma. “ Bofcus “ de Havocumba pertinet ad Bridetonam, & tempore Edvardi regis duas partes hujus bofei ad- “ jacebant ad firmam regis, ita ut nullam partem aliquis hujus bofei habuit excepto comite God- wino a qui per adnumerationem tertiam quercum hujus bolci habuit, quae modo pertinet ad “ manfionem Sandli Stephani Cadomenfis quae Franptona vocatur.” Briftuard and Rollo or Bollo claffed among the king’s almoners in Exchequer Domefday, are here intermixed. So is Aiulfus vicecomes, who holds here in Winterborne, which is not among his pofleffions in Exchequer Domefday. Among the queen’s lands, Litelfroma was held by Bri&ric T. R. E. and wras worth 12 I. when Aiulfus received it. Twelve cotarii are here added to the other perlons on it. Craneborna. Of the 10 hides “ tenuerunt 3 tegni & adhuc tenent 3 de Bri&ico quae non <t potuerunt feparari ab eo, & unufquifque ex eis reddit 20 folidos per ann. excepto fervicio.— « Haec manfio reddidit 24 libras vivente regina, & modo reddit 30 libras.” Medefham. “ Dodo potuit ire cum terra fua ad quemlibet dominum.” So could Saul at Hame, and others. “ Willielmus Belet tenuit Hame de regina.” Wichematune was holden of the queen by Atfelin. In Exchequer Domefday, it paid 65 denarios. Lands of Abbotfbury abbey. Of the 18 hides in Pidela, “ in dominio funt 8, & villani habent 10.” Other ftmilar in- llances. In Abbotfbury are added 14 fervi. Sefemetona. “ Modo tenet earn Bollo prefbyter de abbate, & non poteft recedere ab ecclefia “ cum ifta terra.” The article of Atrum is here thus worded: “ Atrum reddidit geldum pro 2 hidis; modo tenet “ Bollo Prefbyter 1 hidam, et quasdam vidua feemina aliam hidam.
