We meet with many peculiar phrafes in it: deberent cjfe is an abfolute Gallicifm ; congregatores is put for colleclores; folidi denariorum for fhillings: in dicis, in their accountse; dederunt vadimo- nium in mifericordia regis, they gave bail to ftand at the mercy of the king; ager for acra; adquietavit, paid for; tanglanda for tainlanda j pofuit intra firmam regis, made fubjedt to pay rent to the king. De quo f dimidio hidte] <vadiavit regem adguarant, which he made over to the king for fecurity. Manjio is ufed here in Lodra hundred for a farm, as in Domefday for rent f.
