Or the package with the meat may have two tubes ; the one communicating with a vessel containing the 44 vapourizing 44 liquid/’ Heat is applied to both vessels. TAYLOR, John.—This Patent is void by reason of the Patentee having neglected to file a Specification in pursuance of the con¬ ditions of the Letters Patent. The object was 44 packing and pre- 44 serving eggs and other articles of food ” by placing them in 44 moulds or shapes, and filling” them 44 with plaster of Paris.” Eggs do not require a covering before this operation, 44 but in 44 respect of other articles of food it is preferred first to cover them 44 with tin foil paper, or woven fabric, before casting them in plaster 44 of Paris blocks.” [Printed, 3c?.] * A.D. 1855, March 29.—N° 595. ANGER.—Francois Joseph.—Preserving vegetable substances by means of the principle diastase. The substances prepared are dipped in a decoction of malt, and afterwards dried, by artificial means, in drying rooms. 44 Thus prepared, the potato or other 44 vegetable is not susceptible to the decomposing influence of the 44 atmosphere.” 44 Certain neutralized acids or chemical salts can 44 be used instead of diastasis,” but they would not 44 effect the 44 purpose ” 44 so well as the diastasis.” [Printed, 3c?,] A.D. 1855, April 30.—N° 965.
