The characteristic features of this Journal are, 1st, The great practical value of its Original Papers, which are frequently quoted with approbation by the principal Medical Periodicals of this country, as well as republished in the leading Journals of France, Germany, and the United States. 2dly, The copious critical analyses of New Works, a preference being given to those of the highest practical value, and due regard being paid to such Fo- reign Works as are not generally accessible to the profession in this country. 3dly, The early selection of articles on important and useful Discoveries, Ad- ditions, and Improvements in the various departments of Medical Science.
