    The following- prescriptions of antiseptic tooth-powders and mouth washes are largely based upon those formu- lated by Dr. Miller. These prescriptions may be used habitually; and those containing potent antiseptics, like perchloride of mercury, are specially intended for use where highly septic conditions exist as, for example, in pyorrhoea alveolaris. The last prescription will be found useful for patients who cannot endure soap in dentifrice. In prescribing tooth powders and lotions for habitual use it is mostly necessary to study the taste of the individual patient. Few will constantly use a prepara- tion which is disagreeable to them.
