Regular and frequent inspections have been made at the one Government controlled Slaughterhouse now in operation within the Borough. It calls_for special comment that due to centralisation of slaughtering a higher percentage of neat is subiect to inspection than was possible before the commencement of hostilities when there were 17 private slaughterhouses requiring supervision. Figures of the total number of animals slaughtered are not available. Many visits have been made at the request of food vendors for the purpose of inspecting and issuing condemnation certificates in respect of unsound food commodities, chiefly canned goods.](https://iiif.wellcomecollection.org/image/b29264558_0023.jp2/full/800%2C/0/default.jpg)
