In addition 70 cases were reported or otherwise came to the knowledge of the Medical Officer of Health, making a total of 170 cases for the year. The case rate per 100,000 population was 152.1. The tables on page 18 give details in age groups of the 170 cases- Deaths from Tuberculosis. During 1957 deaths from tuberculosis registered as belonging to the Borough of Battersea numbered 11, of which 10 were due to pulmonary tuberculosis, and 1 to another form of the disease.
