    No. 76. A pretty young woman rejecting the suit of t nude Cupid. Three obscene satyrs stand round her. No. 77. Leda and the swan. Leda is sitting in a sort o cave and has a wreath on her head. She is embracing the swan. There are two nude children in the background. No. 83 represents two girls. One of them is in the water up to the hips and washing the right leg of the other, who is on the point of entering the water. No. 85. 4 The Sad Discovery of the Graceless Apprentice.' A woman is begging three men and a woman to have mercy on an apprentice whom they are dragging forth from under the bed. In the confusion the chamber pot is upset. No. 86. 4 Lust and Avarice ' shows a pretty girl asking a withered old man for money. The old man is putting out his tongue at her and rolling his eyes. No. 87. 4 Liberality and Desire ' is a counterpart of the above. It shows a one-eyed, wooden-legged old pensioner giving his purse to a girl, pressing her breasts with one hand. No. 91. ' New Shoes ' represents a dairy, in which a milk- maid is showing her feet and ankles to a young student, who appears to be deeply absorbed in this examination. No. 93. ' Intrusion on Study, or Painter Disturbed ' shows an artist in his studio painting from a nude model. Two men burst in. The artist holds up his hand, as though asking them to be quiet, while the model bursts into tears. No. 95. 4 Symptoms of Sanctity ' shows the interior of a monastery. A bald and very ugly monk is regarding with lustful eyes a beautiful young girl standing beside him with her hands folded in prayer. The holy man's right hand rests on the girl's breast, and his right on her shoulder. No. 96. 4 Touch for Touch, or a Female Physician in Full Practice ', shows a pretty girl with an impudent expression receiving money from an old man, who is following her as [644]
